We are situated at the border of Union County, which has been designated as the fastest growing County in North Carolina. This makes our branch a very busy location for providing rental cars. Many of our car rental clients are starting a new life in North Carolina from other areas of the country or building their businesses here – it’s exciting to be in such a high-energy location!
The staff at the Independence rental car location is incredibly diverse. For example, George is a member of our rental car sales staff who is originally from Yugoslavia. Patrick, another member of our diverse car rental team is a native to the Carolinas, gives all of our visiting rental car customers the opportunity to learn about the hot spots, back roads to explore and a look at the overall local experience. We come from many different areas from the U.S. and abroad but have one thing in common – we love connecting customers with rental cars that will start them on a new adventure!
Russell Phillips is a native New Yorker from Long Island who relocated to Florida before discovering the benefits and beauty of Charlotte, NC. Russell enjoys flying and building computers. He and the staff at the Independence Triangle Rent A Car branch enjoy outdoor activities in and around Charlotte such as skiing and hiking in local parks.

Whether you’re new to Charlotte, NC or have lived there for years, there are some wonderful places worth your time and money. A little investigation will turn up some intriguing places of interest that may just be the highlight of your visit. Don’t be a stranger to the world around you. Passing through a new city or even an old one, can be a rewarding learning experience.
If you’re starting your adventures near Independence Blvd. and Harris Blvd, try grabbing some up close and personal time with nature at McAlpine Creek Park. Even in a large city you can find an escape from the traffic and noise. From dawn to dusk you can take a walk or stop for lunch in the McAlpine Creek Park and Greenway. You will find it at 8711 Monroe Road. Though it’s hard to tell, the park runs between Independence Blvd. and Sardis Road. It’s recommended that you bring a friend for optimum safety but that will make it that much for enjoyable. Take a bike ride through the three acres of scenery or walk down by the lake and feed the ducks. If you bring the kids along be sure that they are fully equipped with safety gear. Bike helmets are the law.
After your trip to the Greenway, why not check out a concert at the Cricket Arena? A large venue, it’s hosted many big name celebrities and live functions. Whether you’re looking to catch a rock show or a monster truck rally, the Cricket Arena is the place to be. Offering themed birthday parties and fantastic race car events, it’s a sure tourist hot spot. Located at 2700 E Independence Blvd. it should be hard to miss. If there is a particular event you want to attend then be sure to order your tickets in advance to avoid missing out. A stay in Charlotte can be a lot of fun if you take note of the places around you. Don’t hesitate to treat your surroundings as a good time waiting to happen.
