I don’t know about you, but now that I’m stuck with my car (it eats a lot of gas), I’m going to try my darndest to preserve it for as long as I can, and that means not driving it around too much. That being said, this may mean that I’ll probably rent a car at some point to take over the bulk of my long-distance driving.

Given the current status of the economy, I am almost too sure that I am NOT the only person feeling the pain and having to make difficult decisions when it comes down to whether or not you should drive your car anywhere. Many rental car agencies are taking advantage of this economic downturn-and with good reason. If people have to decide whether or not to park the car in their driveways or make that long drive down to Florida in their only vehicle, more often than not- they’ll probably opt to park it.

Couple the fact that people don’t want to use and abuse their own vehicles along with the fact that many rental car agencies are offering up all sorts of specials and deals, and you’ve got yourself a win-win situation.
