Are We Too Spoiled Nowadays When We Drive?

When I get into my car, the first thing I usually do is plug my ipod in right away.  I cannot seem to physically leave a parked position unless I have my music on.  It kinda’ makes me wonder what I did before ipods even existed…Oh, that’s right; I had my cd collection.

Are We Too Spoiled?

If you were to ask most Americans what kind of car they drove, you probably wouldn’t think their response is a big deal.  However, what about all of those accessories- you know- the kind that we don’t even realize we have half the time?  Today, vehicles are filled with things such as GPS devices to give us directions when we can’t figure out our way around.  What ever happened to paper maps?  Then there are those vehicles that are equipped with the 6 cd changers- as if one cd player wasn’t enough!  What ever happened to cassette players? Remember when cars didn’t even have radios in them?

The Correlation between Danger and Gadgets

While all of these gadgets can be “cool” for vehicles, it can also increase the likelihood that you’ll get into an accident.  The most prominent example of this today can be seen in the cell phone.  Every single time I go out on the road now to run errands or go somewhere, I can almost always spot someone using their cell phone to send a text message.  Do you think we were better off without all of these gadgets?  Are they just dangerous distractions now?
