No Fine Print Here

Typically when people get their rental agreement they sign it and stick it in the glove compartment and won't see it again until they bring the vehicle back. At Triangle Rent A Car we make it easy. On this page are the basic issues covered on the rental agreement. Everything from keeping the vehicle longer to what your responsibilities are as a renter. Because we value our customers so much, we have taken great care in presenting these guidelines in a clear and concise manner that isn't cluttered with industry jargon and legalese. We have no hidden rules or "surprise" guidelines. As Triangle Rent A Car is in the communication business as well as the customer service business we want to communicate to our customers information concerning our vehicles, availability, rates, qualifications to rent, options concerning additional coverages, just to name a few. It is also our responsibility to inform each customer of their responsibilities while renting. Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)


This coverage summary is not a complete description of the coverages, waivers, exclusions, conditions or definitions.

When making your reservation you may click to accept the Collision Damage Waiver (CDW). The current rate for this product will download to your reservation. You may elect to keep this coverage or decline this coverage at time of rental.

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) - When purchased the renter has a zero deductible to cover:
1. Body damage to the exterior of the vehicle
2. Tire damage due to road hazards
3. Windshield damage
4. Protection against paying your deductible out-of-pocket
5. Protection against paying loss-of use on our vehicle
6. Protection against paying for the vehicle's replacement value

CDW purchased on the 15' or 16' box truck and dump truck is limited to the chassis, tires and windshield. CDW does not cover the box on the chassis.

CDW does not cover roof damage on any vehicle.

CDW does not cover damage to any vehicle due to insufficient clearance (height, width, or hauling)

Supplemental Liability Ins (SLI)

When making your reservation you may click to accept the Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI). The current rate for this product will download to your reservation. You may elect to keep this coverage or decline this coverage at time of rental.

Supplemental Rental Liability Insurance (SLI) protects you against claims made by a third party for bodily injury and/or property damage sustained as a result of an accident while you are operating a rental vehicle.

The coverage is excess over the underlying insurance specified within your signed agreement.

Maximum coverage available to you is the difference between the underlying insurance specified within your signed rental agreement and the SLI limit for bodily injury and property damage which was elected and paid for.

Supplemental Rental Liability Insurance does not cover all situations that may arise while operating a rental vehicle. This policy summary is only a condensed version of the entire Supplemental Rental Liability Insurance Policy.

Coverage
This policy provides excess auto liability insurance and only applies to a "loss" involving "bodily injury" and "property damage" caused by an "accident" and resulting from the use of a covered "rental vehicle" for which "underlying limits' are provided by either the "real operator" or rentee".

No Show Policy


Reservations are valid and honored for up to two hours after the requested pick up time. If the vehicle is not picked up within two hours of the requested pick up time your reservation status will be changed to a NO SHOW. We ask that you contact Triangle Rent A Car if you need to change the pick up time of your requested vehicle to avoid any problems.

Credit and Debit Card Use


The renter must present a credit card or debit card in their name with the appropriate available funds on the card. If a credit card or debit card is presented in someone else's name Triangle Rent A Car will not be able to rent the vehicle to you. This also applies to spouses. This policy is in place to protect the credit card or debit card holder.

Extensions of Rental


When your contract is opened, we will ask you the expected return date and time. Once you leave our facility we ask that you contact us if the return date or time needs to be extended. Only the renter is allowed to extend an open contract.

If you choose to extend your rental, additional funds must be available on your credit card or debit card to cover the rental time requested. In the event funds are not available or a payment cannot be made a request for extension will be denied and the rental vehicle must be returned on the original return date and time. Cash renters must make an additional payment for deposit at a Triangle Rent A Car facility to extend.

Our Rates and How We Charge


Triangle Rent A Car rates may vary from location to location even in the same city and state. Our rates are determined by supply, demand and market conditions. Rates quoted are only guaranteed at the time they are quoted. Our suggestion is to always make your plans early to take advantage of the best possible rate we can offer.

Triangle Rent A Car's daily charges are on a 24 hour clock. Example: If you rent the vehicle at 10:00 a.m. on a Monday and return at 10:00 a.m. the next day, which would be Tuesday, this would be considered a one day charge.

Renters are given a 59-minute grace period to return. After such time the renter would be charged an hourly rate for each hour. All items charged for by Triangle Rent A Car on a 24 hour basis include but are not limited to daily rates, collision damage waiver, supplemental liability coverage, personal accident coverage, underage renter fee, additional renter fee, etc.

Refueling Options


Customer is to return the rented vehicle with the same amount of fuel that was in the tank when rented. Avoid high refueling charges. You may opt to purchase our prepaid fuel option. You may purchase a full tank of fuel at below retail cost. Ask a sales associate at time of rental.

Services for the Physically Challenged


Visually Impaired: If you have a designated driver that is 21 years of age with a valid driver's license and you meet our pay method requirements there are no additional charges other than the rental fee to get you where you need to go.

Contract Violations


Contract violations include, but are not limited to:

1.Driving under the influence of intoxicants.

2. Operation of the vehicle by an unauthorized driver.

3. Taking the vehicle out of state or country without the permission of Triangle Rent A Car.

4. Off road use of the vehicle.

5. Failure to return rental vehicle by the due back date.

6. Failure to pay all charges listed on contract at time of return.

Renters Responsibilities


Renters responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Renters are responsible for all damages to the rental vehicle and any third party claims for liability while under a vehicle rental contract.

Renters are responsible for returning the vehicle at the designated date and time shown on the rental agreement. It is the responsibility of the renter to contact Triangle Rent A Car to extend a contract and to pay additional deposits needed to extend the contract.

It is the renters responsibility to understand what they are initialing on the rental contract. Our customer service agents are trained to explain each line item to their customer prior to having the customer initial the contract.

Parking Tickets


The renter is responsible for paying for any and all parking tickets received while the vehicle is on contract.

Please present the parking ticket at time of return to our customer service agent. We will be glad to add the parking charge onto your contract and will forward payment to the proper authorities.

If the parking ticket is not paid for at time of return Triangle Rent A Car will forward all invoices for parking tickets to the customer for payment.

Airport Service


Airport pickup service is limited to the Raleigh/Durham Airport; Piedmont Triad Airport; Charlotte Douglas Airport and Wilmington, NC Airport. Customer must call the location when they arrive informing agent of terminal location.
Customer must return the vehicle to the renting location during hours of operation.
Customer will be shuttled to the airport.
